What We Do

I’m very thankful that my life has changed. People trust me now...I pray God continues this important ministry. I want to thank everyone who helps orphans and doesn’t forget we exist and need help!
— Sasha, resident of Mel's House

There is an emptiness, a hole, in the hearts of kids growing up in orphanages. Their hearts have been broken, and rejection and abandonment has left a deep wound. Only Jesus can heal a broken heart and restore a child to emotional health. Only Jesus can transform a shy, despondent boy or a bitter, angry girl into confident, kind and loving adults. This is what we do. We point the broken-hearted to Him.

Our Transition Homes offer orphaned teens (age 16-22) a safe place to live so they can grow into stable, mature adults. Staffed by Christian house parents, our kids are given a life they have never known… a home and a family. They are loved, taught life skills, and equipped in a Christ-centered environment.

Our Teen Outreach Program (Friends Club, Crossroads Club) reaches orphanage graduates with a fun, upbeat evening program that includes music, games, life skills and Bible study. Volunteers reach out to teens living in trade school dorms, develop relationships with them and let them know that they are loved and have a purpose in life.

The Orphanage Outreach Program is designed to mentor and guide youth (age 5-15) still living within the orphanage system. An Outreach Coordinator and their team visit orphanages weekly to provide these young children with hope, love, and the sharing of Jesus Christ.

Heart for Orphans also partners with local foster families in our Foster Support Program. These compassionate families have a combination of biological and foster children as well as older teens. They often feel alone and in need of additional support. Heart for Orphans offers training, counseling and other resources, as well as fellowship with other Christians working in orphan ministry.
