On the Move

Exciting news! Mel’s House for boys and Ruth’s House for girls are relocating to Zaporizhia! For 10 years Heart for Orphans has operated two orphan Transition Homes in a small village outside of Berdyansk. Over 127 orphaned teens have lived in these homes and most of their lives have dramatically changed as a result. Dozens of these teens are actively working in ministry!

Friends Club

The Friends Club center is a downtown storefront where as many as 50 orphaned teens gather for fellowship, games, music and laughter five nights a week. Soon a kitchen will be finished and not only will hot meals be available but cooking classes will be offered. (Most kids graduate from the orphanage with no idea how to cook.

Fun at the Races

Friends and family of Heart for Orphans and Hathaway Generators enjoyed a fun night at the Langley speedway Saturday, June 3rd. We all gathered to watch and cheer Casey Wyatt as he drove his late model stock car in the 100-lap race; Hathaway Electric/Hathaway Generators was one of the sponsors of his racecar. Ping Pong, Anyone?

Sasha is a big guy with a strong presence. He’s quick to tell you that when he was in the orphanage he was a ping-pong champion. He was regarded as the best player in the whole region, and he was even sent to Russia to compete! Who knows how far he would have gone had life given him different circumstances?
